Brunklaus designed a set of wall lights on the inside of the portraits of Cornelis de Graeff and Catharina Hooft. Cornelius de Graeff was a popular mayor of Amsterdam in the 17th century and married Catharina Hooft, a granddaughter of the famous writer PC Hooft. Historical persons who also can be seen in the Rijksmuseum.

These lights have an oval white screen with the image on the inside of Cornelis and Catharina. Once the light turns on, the portraits appear as silhouettes on the outside.

Product Description

Seemingly a white geometrical shape turns out to be a 17th. century portrait of Cornelis de Graeff once the light is turned on. The idea for this wall light is inspired on
almost forgotten persons from the Amsterdam history but were of great significance for the city. Cornelis de Graeff played was important for the commerce as a viceroy
but also for the bloom of the art as a meacenas and art-collector. He was married to Catharina Hooft. (see white female print)
